The Fred Relays
Unfortunately, the 2022 and 2023 Fred Running Relay Events are cancelled due to the construction and closure of the White Pine Trail.
West Michigan Trails has been working with partners to raise funds to pave a 7-mile stretch of the White Pine Trail from the Kent County line at Sand Lake, through Pierson Township, to Howard City. We are excited to announce that those 7 miles will be paved this year! Additionally, the remaining trail is being paved in 2023 and will be closed for the duration of construction.
Although we love to host the event, the continuation and completion of the White Pine Trail project will pay off for decades to come. Keep your eyes and ears out for Fred Relays 2024!
Trail Mixer
Attend our premier fundraising event! This early-summer, table-hosted breakfast is our premier fundraising event. It is an opportunity to bring together our current donors as well as reach out to new donors to tell them our story. We provide a free breakfast while sharing our mission, vision, and success stories.
If you are interested in volunteering or would like to host a table, please contact jennifer@wmtrails.org.
Trail Challenge
Get out and explore the trails! In 2020 trail usage spiked as much as 300% in some counties in West Michigan with record inquiries about the trails. Specifically, individuals wanted to explore new trails - those that were beyond their back yards. We started the Trail Challenge to encourage trail users to get out and explore trails they had previously not experienced. This virtual event has attracted hundreds of people to check out more of the 40+ trails we have in West Michigan. Participants earn badges along their journey and, when they log at least 20 trails, they earn a custom medal! Register here: https://bit.ly/WMTGTrailChallenge
